Bonded warehouse

A bonded warehouse refers to a warehouse approved by the customs for storing imported goods and not subject to the management of customs laws and import control regulations. Imported goods stored in bonded warehouses can be modified, graded, sampled, mixed, and reprocessed in the warehouse with approval. If these goods are re exported, they are exempt from customs duties, and if they enter the domestic market, they must pay customs duties. Each country has clear regulations on the storage period of goods in bonded warehouses. Establishing bonded warehouses not only provides convenience for traders, but also promotes transit trade.

Supervised Warehouse

Customs supervised warehouses refer to import, export, transit, transshipment, clearance goods, bonded goods, and other inbound and outbound goods that have not yet completed customs procedures and are subject to customs inspection within the approved scope of customs. In fact, it is also a type of bonded storage, similar to the functions of bonded areas in foreign countries. It mainly stores goods and luggage entering the country for future retrieval by all people, or goods that arrive without a certificate, have incomplete documents, incomplete procedures, or violate customs regulations. Customs will not release them and they need to be temporarily stored in customs supervised warehouses for customs processing.

general warehouse

A regular warehouse is used to store general daily industrial products or agricultural and sideline products that do not require special storage conditions. This type of warehouse has relatively simple technical facilities, with only general equipment such as entry and exit, loading and unloading, handling, commodity maintenance, safety and fire prevention, and does not require special equipment such as insulation, refrigeration, air conditioning, and anti-virus. Only goods with stable physical, chemical, and biological properties that do not interfere with each other can be stored, such as department stores, knitwear, hardware, medical equipment, and local products. Due to its strong adaptability and high utilization rate, the general warehouse is the most widely distributed, largest proportion, and most commonly used conventional warehouse in the commercial warehouse network.

What is their role???

Bonded warehouses, like overseas warehouses, are used to store goods within the bonded zone that have not yet paid customs duties. Ordinary warehouses have a relatively simple structure and are used to store general daily industrial or agricultural products that do not require special storage conditions. Supervised warehouse refers to the inspection of import and export, transit, transshipment, customs clearance goods, as well as bonded goods and other inbound and outbound goods that have not yet completed customs procedures.

Taking customs supervision warehouses as an example, they are used for dismantling or consolidating goods within the approved scope of customs. They are transit warehouses that accept customs inspection for import, export, transit, transshipment, and clearance goods. Bonded goods, together with other inbound and outbound goods that have not yet completed customs procedures, play a role in goods supervision.

Bonded warehouses and ordinary warehouses serve the purpose of storing goods.

What are their respective advantages???

Supervised warehouses are beneficial in preventing the mixing and storage of international and domestic goods, as well as imported and exported goods. There are comprehensive fire and safety measures in place.

If the goods in the bonded warehouse are re exported, they are exempt from customs duties. If they enter the domestic market, customs duties must be paid. It can reduce a significant amount of expenses.

Ordinary warehouses have relatively low prices and are the most common type of warehouse, making them very suitable for storing and transferring goods, and are highly favored by the public.

Ordinary warehouses cost less than bonded warehouses, but if goods need to be stored for a longer period of time, storing them in bonded warehouses can save a lot of rental costs. If goods stored in customs supervised warehouses are not declared for more than 14 days, customs will charge a late declaration fee.
